The device itself is relatively inexpensive to buy, especially once you consider the amount of practicality and therefore the build quality.

The Expression Premium XP-6100 may be a mid-range multifunction device (MFP), designed for both everyday and artistic use. It will print, scan, and copy, and you will be able to share it among users on the wireless network. There is support for automatic duplex printing (two-sided), although if you want to send a fax, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
There are 2 trays for one hundred A4 pages, and twenty sheets of 6x4in or 5x7in exposure paper. Truncated behind the front panel are the Rushmore State AN Mount slots and a USB port for direct scanning and printing.
The XP-6100 is quite compact. The relatively small area is achieved by placing the 5 ink tanks on the back instead of next to each ink tank. Like the TS6250, the Epson system pairs a pigment black ink for plain paper jobs with a dye-based black for photos. Cyan, magenta, and yellow based dyes are mostly used for each.
The overall print quality is spectacular, with crisp black text and powerful graphics. Duplex prints appear to be as thick as single-sided prints, although some of them may bleed. You can change the ink density in the driver, or use thicker paper than we’re used to.
Copying is fast, 9 seconds in just black or nineteen seconds, and therefore exposure is well rated. Amazing photos, with true color replicas and lots of detail, especially in the center and light areas.
The only disappointment is, that the boss’s unattractive gray/brown exposure, which seems to have been upgraded with too many differences, makes it look too attractive.

Epson sells replacements in the regular or XL sizes, but even counting for the latter, the price of a color A4 page is steep at eleven.2p, where black elements might be a dizzying 3.7p. The black photo wasn’t used on plain paper so it wasn’t covered during this image: Epson says the £17 XL cartridge can clog up to 800 6×4-inch photos.
Epson Expression XP-6100 Ink Printer
Like some inkjet printers, the XP-6100 has a very competitive direct run, but it stings you a bit with the value of a replacement ink cartridge – mainly because it uses an extra fifth of ink to print photos.
Calculating the operating price is, difficult as all 5 inks are sold out in regular and ‘XL’ sizes. The black ink cartridges for text documents are worth £14.49 and £22.99 for the normal and XL cartridges, but even with the 550 pages provided by the XL cartridges. You’re still paying around 4p per page for a simple text document, which is slightly above average. -flat . flat .
Color and exposure printing costs a little more – but provided you get the larger XL cartridge. Regular cartridges are worth £11 each (so £44 for all four), which amounts to 13.7p per page. The XL cartridge costs £73.46 for all four, but lasts quite a while, lowering the value per page for color printing to around 10.5p.
Epson sells multi-packs containing all 5 ink cartridges, but the savings on these multi-packs are quite small compared to the value spent on each ink cartridge.
If you’re looking for a home printer that will do that extra touch, but you don’t want to pay a fortune, the Epson Xp-6100 is a great alternative. OK, that ink isn’t the most cost-effective, but it’s well worth the purchase for a particular device and because of the incredible range of functions that come with it.
Print, scan, and duplicate quality was above what I expected. And it was a very pleasant surprise to be told that I used to be able to print quality photos to the limit.
