Brother MFC-L8690CDW Fuser unit replacement
The fuser on the Brother MFC-L8900CDW printer may need to be replaced due to various reasons experienced by the printer. There is a fuser lifetime copy counter that is set to display a message on the screen recommending replacing the Fuser after two hundred thousand pages have been written through the fuser. It’s also common to replace the fuser for the path that appears on the page.
The heated surface of the Teflon roller will be scratched by the extractor feet which are designed to separate the page from the roller surface. If any of these pawls begin to wear out to the surface, the toner can stick to this space and be deposited on the next page of this space. Since the higher fuser rollers are not available for individual purchase, the entire fuser must be replaced to correct the problem. Incidentally, the installation method is quite simple.
To start the Fuser unit replacement process, follow the steps below until it’s finished:
First step What you have to do: remove the Fuser unit replacement
- First, disconnect the printer and allow the printer to cool for at least a quarter of an hour.
- Next, Open the rear exit of the printer.
Release the door support arm latch (as highlighted in the icon below) so that the rear exit of the printer lies flat and provides extra space for access to the fuser assembly. - Next, release the inner guides by gently bending the guides in an upward motion to the degree of association.
- Next, after bending slightly, the tab holding the guides in place should be released from the printer cage.
- Next, Remove the correct fuser cover by removing the 2 screws as shown in the icon below. A philips head screwdriver is required. With each screw removed, bring the tab in the lower right corner to remove the correct fuser cover. Slide the blanket out by moving it from the very cheap.

- Next, Drop the toner filter down, removing the 3 tabs on the back from their slots.
- Next, Slide the 3 tabs of the new toner filter into the slot. Rotate the toner filter until each clip snaps into place, tightening the new toner filter.
Do Step 4 to swap the clamping roller out
- Do so Using a spring latch, or a flat screwdriver, slide one side of the released clamp roller spring off the post. A spring locking device is, highly recommended for this step.
- Next, Slide the opposite side of the clamping roller spring away from the post. we tend to strongly recommend a spring locking device for simple releases.
- Next, Slide the clamping roller up and out through the slot to remove it from the assembly.
- Next, Spread the spring slowly to release the clamping roller.
- Next, Slowly stretch the spring once again to insert the new clamping roller.
- Next, Slide the clamping rollers into the assembly through the slots around them, with the corners of the springs exposed, matching the opposing springs. It’s best at this point to hold the springs back a bit from the assembly. Twist the spring down into the assembly, but just long enough to cut the edges which are very cheap nowadays.
- Next, Slide the left loop of the spring over the appropriate post. the ring must pass through all the posts so that the spring does not dislodge.
- Next, Slide the correct spring loop over the appropriate post. Again, confirm the area unit loops all the way through the post to stop the spring from dislodging.
- Next, push the flat bottom edge of the spring under the retaining tab to secure the spring firmly in place.
- Next, repeat steps one through nine for the remaining three staple rollers.

Brother MFC-L8690CDW Review
The Brother MFC-L8690CDW is, a printer with a chunky multifunction device designed for busy SMEs and also the specifications are adjusted to the speed and volume of the printer. It’s large enough to carry three hundred sheets of paper in the 2 input bins and one hundred and fifty sheets in the center output tray of the printer, while the sealed black toner cartridge is good for a very fine 3,000 mono prints. Higher yield cartridges are available which can double that amount.
This printer can handle A3 paper that is, not associated with the NFC feature when not buying the electronics of choice, but overall, this feature is great. You have touchscreen management via the large 9.3 cm LCD, duplex printing, and Wi-Fi Direct management via the companion app which is simply spectacular.
